Streaming Potato ("we", "us") runs streamingpotato.com, a website made for children ages 3 to 6 and the grown-ups who watch with them. We take children's privacy seriously and designed the site so that it doesn't need any personal information to work.

The short version

• We don't ask for, collect or store personal information from anyone, including children.
• There are no accounts, sign-ups, forms, comment boxes or chat on the site.
• Videos load from YouTube only after someone presses play.
• Any ads on the site are contextual only. They are based on the page's content, not on the person viewing it.

Information we collect

We don't collect personal information such as names, email addresses, photos, voice recordings or locations through the site.

Information stored on your device

Some games remember small settings, such as stars earned or whether the sound is on, in your browser's local storage. That information stays on your device, isn't sent to us and doesn't identify anyone. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser's site data.

The games can read their prompts out loud. They only use a voice that is already installed on your device, so nothing is sent anywhere to make the speech, and the games never listen to or record anyone.

Services that help run the site

Like most websites, pages on Streaming Potato load a few files from other companies. When that happens, your browser shares technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, with them so they can deliver the file.

• Hosting: the site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may keep standard server logs for security.
• Fonts and code libraries: fonts come from Google Fonts, and the animated background uses a code library served by cdnjs (Cloudflare).
• Videos: our shows are hosted on YouTube and embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing loads from YouTube until someone presses play. Our videos are marked "Made for Kids" on YouTube, which limits the data YouTube collects while they play.
• Ads: the site may show ads from Google AdSense. We ask Google to treat our whole site as directed to children, which turns off personalized ads and remarketing. Ads are chosen from the content of the page.

Each of these companies has its own privacy policy that explains how it handles this information.

Children's privacy

Streaming Potato is directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site has no way for anyone to send us any.

Parents' choices

Because we don't collect personal information from children, there's nothing about your child for us to review, change or delete.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site works in a way that affects privacy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
